The Copperhill City Counsel met Monday, May 19th, 2014. All members were present with the exception of Alderwoman Kathy Stewart. Items on the agenda included a resolution and a final reading of the cross connection ordinance.
The first item of new business was a resolution to purchase a new laptop for the city’s Police Department. The resolution allows for the purchase of a new laptop in the amount of $600 dollars from the city’s drug fund. Motioning for approval was Alderman Ray Tanner with Vice Mayor David Herring Seconding. The Resolution was then passed with no opposition.
The second item on the agenda was the last reading of the City’s Cross Connection Ordinance. This ordinance is a policy regarding the City’s Water Department and its compliance with Federal and State laws. The final reading was motioned for approval by Vice Mayor David Herring and seconded by Alderman Ray Tanner. The budget was not yet ready for discussion and approval, according to City Recorder Erica Jordan, and will be reviewed by the City Counsel in a special called meeting sometime within the next month.
