The Polk County Wellness Policy will be available for viewing at the School Board meeting on May 12, 2014 at Copper Basin Elementary School at 7 pm. Anyone interested in reading the policy may do so at that time.

NASHVILLE RECORDING ARTIST Jimmy Wayne will perform live in concert May 16 in the Copper Basin High School Gym. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. All proceeds go to the student needs account. Tickets available at CBHS or Peoples Bank (McCaysville and Ducktown).

PCHS ALUMNI BANQUET will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the PCHS cafeteria. Social hour at 6 p.m., banquet at 7 p.m. $15 at the door; Members of the Class of 2014 free.

BURRA BURRA KIDS Carnival, now in its 13th successful year, is scheduled for Saturday, June 7 at the Ducktown Basin Museum. Thanks to generous donations from local business sponsors, all the children’s games at this year’s carnival will be free. Concessions, which include hog dogs, drinks, popcorn, cookies and cupcakes, will also be free. There will be a small charge for bingo and the cakewalk, and all proceeds will go to benefit the museum operating fund.

BOOK CLUB meets every first Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the West Polk Library in Benton. All interested in reading different books are invited to participate..

SPRINGTOWN COMMUNITY Support Group meets every third Monday at 7 PM at the Fire Hall.
