SPRING CONCERT The Lee University Chamber Strings will present its annual spring concert on Friday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dixon Center on Lee’s campus. The concert will feature non-stop entertainment and present familiar musical pieces. The performance will highlight genres such as broadway, opera, country, and American favorites. The concert will also feature the rare talent of Hanchi Shi, an 11-year-old violinist from Wuhan, China, who will showcase, “Winter” by Vivaldi.
THE MARCH MODEL RAILROAD Open House at The Historic Depot located in Mineral Bluff, GA at 150 Railroad Avenue will be held from 9am to Noon on Saturday 3/22. This HO gauge model railroad will see trains operating from Elizabeth Yard in Marietta through Ellijay, Blue Ridge. Murphy Jct and on to Copperhill. The Tri-State Model Railroaders invite you to see excellent scenery and structures representing railroading in the North Georgia Mountains during the early 1950’s. FREE SEEDLINGS TN Dept of AG Division of Forestry and the Polk County Soil Conservation District will be giving free tree seedlings away on a first come first serve basis on Wed. March 26th at the Benton IGA from 10 am untl noon and on Thursday, March 27th at the Piggly Wiggly in Ducktown from 10am until gone. PCHS HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS are being accepted until April 1. Nominations should include qualifications and an essay in 200 words or less why the individual would make a good inductee. Nominees should have distinguished themselves in such a way as to reflect favorably on PCHS and made significant contributions to the community, county, or country in which they reside. 4TH ANNUAL DIXON DASH 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run, April 26 at Gee Creek Campground. 1-mil starts at 9 a.m., 5K starts at 10 a.m. Proceeds to PCHS Cross Country teams.
