Vehicular homicide charged

A single car accident on Sunday, Feb. 2 ended in the death of one, and a vehicular homicide charge for another. Pamela A. Irwin, 26, has been charged in the death of 20-year-old Johnny L. Sorenson of Chattanooga.
According to the preliminary report filed by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Philip Reagan, Irwin was traveling west at a high rate of speed going on Hwy 64. The Lincoln Town Car left the roadway on the right side, where it struck a culvert causing it to flip several times. The vehicle landed on the passenger side roof. It then caught fire with Sorenson trapped inside, the report said.
Irwin has been charged with vehicular homicide, failure to maintain lane, failure to provide proof of insurance, signed copy of registration, and failure to exercise due care.
