Polk County High School’s Student Leadership Team has recently accomplished a very generous project that, little did they know, would not only benefit the community but the entire school as well. The team created a contest for all of the classes to participate. For three weeks, students brought their loose change to their third period class. At the end of this three week period the change was counted and the class that brought in the most money won a pizza party. Teachers and students alike were all fully engaged in the project and many of them were happy to be serving the community.
In these short three weeks, Polk County High School managed to raise $1,900. The Student Leadership Team says, “The best way for a school to be known is by serving.” This is the goal at PCHS. The Leadership Team is planning on many more service projects this year and looks forward to seeing them carried out. In conclusion, the leadership would like to thank Revonda Howard, Ronnie German, Zach Swafford, Micaleah Parker, Rachael Lowe, and all the teachers and students who made this generous gift to the community possible.
