OcoeeFest starts Saturday
OcoeeFest, a two-day festival featuring homebrewed beers, camping, regional bands and whitewater rafting activities, will be held August 31-Sept. 1 at Adventures Unlimited on Hwy 64 in Ocoee. The event is being put on by BBB Paddling, producers of the Tallulah Fest in Tallulah Falls, Ga. BBB is attempting to fill, in their opinion, a much-needed void of a whitewater festival near Chattanooga.
The festival will feature live music from local artists including Lon Eldridge, The Kalob Griffin Band and Shark Week, among others. Atlanta’s Red Brick Brewing will be sponsoring a beer-tasting contest featuring more than 30 craft and homebrewers.
Kayak manufacturer Liquid Logic will hold a raffle for a new kayak. Chattanooga’s Good Dog is scheduled to be a featured food vendor for the event.
Tickets to Ocoee Fest are $20. The ticket includes entry to the festival grounds and “primitive camping.”
