STATE OF TENNESSEE, DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN’S SERVICES, v. Brenda Gatlin and Michael Gatlin; Docket No. J-10-431

The State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services, has filed a petition in the Juvenile Court of Bradley County, Tennessee, seeking to terminate the parental rights of Brenda Gatlin and Michael Gatlin to the child Andrew Gatlin.
A trial in this case is set for April 18, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.   Brenda Gatlin and Michael Gatlin must appear before this Court on that date to determine whether their parental rights to the subject child should be terminated and forever ended.  The Court is located in Cleveland, Tennessee.
If Brenda Gatlin and Michael Gatlin do not come to the trial, the state will ask the Court to allow it to proceed without contest.   That means that the state will ask the Court to let it present proof without having any lawyer appear and defend Brenda Gatlin and Michael Gatlin’s rights in court.
If the Court believes that the Department of Children’s Services has proved its case, then Brenda Gatlin and Michael Gatlin’s parental rights will be forever terminated, and they will never be able to see the children again or object to their adoption.
If the Court issues an order granting the motion, Brenda Gatlin and Michael Gatlin will have 30 days from entry of the order to contact the Court and appeal.
Copies of all orders and motions filed in this case will be left for Brenda Gatlin and Michael Gatlin with the Clerk of the Juvenile Court.  This will constitute appropriate service on them for all future filings in this case.

Entered this, the 7th day of February, 2013.
