85, of Englewood
Ralph Lafayette Blankenship, age 85 of Englewood, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Woods Memorial Hospital. A native and life-long resident of McMinn County he was a son of the late Anderson and Bertha Watkins Blankenship, and was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Eva Lou Blankenship, Anna B. Gunter, and Virginia Witte; 3 grandchildren, Brandon Blankenship, LaBron Duckett and Rachel Duckett; son-in-law, Curtis Duckett. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church and was retired from Athens Stove Works.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Angelee Watson Blankenship; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Robyn Blankenship of Athens, Steve and Lisa Blankenship of Maryville, and Pat Blankenship of Englewood; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Connie and Eldon Everhart and Hazel Duckett all of Delano; 1 sister, Alene Matthews of Athens; 9 grandchildren and spouses, Karen Pritchett, Gary and Nancy Everhart, Sarah Sprague, David Blankenship, Amber and Travis Torbett, Chris Blankenship, Carla Blankenship, Candice Varela and Cody Robinson. 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 8:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2012 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Kincannon and Rev. Travis Torbett officiating.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 10, 2012 at New Zion Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be David Gunter, L.C. Bull and grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.Those unable to attend may send condolences to www.laycock-hobbs.com.
