Computer classes will continue to be offered at no charge to adults in September at the East Polk Co. Public Library in Ducktown, TN.
Computer classes will continue to be offered at no charge to adults in September at the East Polk Co. Public Library in Ducktown, TN. These sessions are made possible due to the library having been awarded a USDA Rural Library Computer Grant. Classes will be taught by Mrs. Penny Montgomery, a business education teacher at Copper Basin High School, and are as follow:
Sept. 4 & 6 (3:30-5:30 pm) Beginning Word [should have some typing ability]
Sat., Sept. 8 (10:00 am– 12:00 pm) Writing a Resume’ [includes how to write cover letter]
Sept. 11 & 13 (3:30-5:30 pm) Intermediate Word [must have experience using Word]
Sept. 18 & 20 (3:30-5:30 pm) Beginning Excel [spreadsheet program]
Sat., Sept. 22 [10am-12 pm] Computer lab for those who have taken one of the above classes
Sept. 25 & 27 (3:30-5:30 pm) Navigating the Net [learn how to use the internet safely]
Since these classes are offered free of charge & have a limited number of spaces, we ask that you commit to coming to each session in which you enroll. Participants must sign up for these classes in person at the East Polk Co. Public Library, located behind People’s Bank in Ducktown. For information, you may call the library at 423-548-4004, but no phone registrations will be accepted. Library hours are 1-6 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday.
