Spring Creek

The Ocoee/Hiwassee Ranger District is proposing to restore selected natural vegetative communities and enhance wildlife habitat through vegetation management activities and provide an equestrian trailhead within the Spring Creek project area.  Pursuant to 36 CFR 215.5, Acting District Ranger Andrew Gaston requests comments on the proposed action.  The proposed activities are located approximately 8 miles northeast of Benton, Tennessee.  Additional information concerning the proposed action can be obtained by contacting the Forest Service at the address or phone number listed below.  The Environmental Assessment is also available on the Cherokee National Forest web site at http://www.fs.usda.gov/projects/cherokee/landmanagement/projects.

This is the opportunity to comment on these proposed actions as discussed in the 36 CFR 215 appeal regulations published in the Federal Register on June 4, 2003.  Only individuals and organizations who submit comments in compliance with 36 CFR 215.6 and 215.13 may appeal a decision on this proposed action.  For appeal eligibility, individuals or a representative from organizations submitting comments must either sign the comments or verify identity upon request.
