PCHS students get art grant
Art students of Barbara McReynolds at Polk County High School were awarded by the Southeast Tennessee Development District, a designate of Tennessee Arts Commission. The funds provided a daylong workshop on watercolor by award-winning artist and instructor, Karen Barton, of the Agape Art Academy, where she is director. TVA, through Louise Butts, joined forces with other sponsors in the workshop to provide the art supplies for the students. Ms. Barton instructed the students on the basic techniques of watercolor painting: wet-on-wet, scumbling, dry brush, and more. The students painted a mountain sunset and a seascape.
