Maclain Yowarsky and Nattalie paced the Polk Lady Runners in qualifying for the state meet and both were named to the All region Team. The girls team placed 2nd and qualified for the state meet.  Nattalie Miles and Maclain Yowarsky earned All-Region honors by placing 5th and 10th overall as individuals.

"I am very proud of this team and our showing today.  Ashley (Prill) didn't have her best run of the year, but I know she will bounce back next week in Brentwood.  I couldn't be happier for this team, especially the seniors.  They were a part of our first ever Region Championship last year and followed up this year with a runner-up finish.”

“Our team has fought through a lot this year, but I've never heard these girls make excuses.  Amber(Moyers) and Holly(Merrill) really gave us a lift today.  I have challenged them all year to step up and do their best in the 4th and 5th spots and today they didn't disappoint.  Amber set a PR on the most difficult course we run all year and she also passed three girls from East Hamilton in the last three tenths of a mile to help secure our second place finish."

Patrick Shultz placed 2nd overall in the Region 3 A-AA cross country meet at Chickamauga Dam.  He earned All Region honors and qualified for the state meet in Brentwood which will be run Saturday.  The boys team placed 6th overall out of 10 teams and did not qualify to go to the state meet.

"Our kids did what they could today.  I really appreciate Patrick, Evan, Brendon, and Samuel picking it up today and giving our team a chance, but we just didn't have any depth this year.  We hope that we are able to go out and find some kids that will be able to help our program get to that next level.  I was proud of Patrick for finishing second overall for the second year in a row.  He is competing in the state for the third year in a row and I know he has his goals set high, the Coach Carroll concluded”."
