The Polk County Board of Education proposes to bid on auditing of the school systems six general activity accounts and five cafeteria accounts for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012.
Detailed bid forms may be picked up at the Polk County Department of Education in Benton, TN. Bids will be opened at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the Polk County Board of Education. The Polk County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

It is the duty of your Grand Jurors to investigate any public offense which they know or have reason to believe has been committed and which is triable or indictable in this county. Any person having knowledge or proof that such an offense has been committed may apply to testify before the Grand Jury subject to the provisions of TCA, Section 40-12-104.
The Grand Jury will next meet at the Polk County Justice Center on Monday, the 29th day of August, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. and at the Ducktown Courthouse on the 29th day of August, 2011 at 9:00 A.M. You may be prosecuted for perjury for any oral or written statement which you make under oath to the Grand Jury, when you know the statement to be false, and when the statement touches on a matter material to the point in question.
The foreman for the Benton area is Steve Harbison, and the foreman for the Ducktown area is Roger Thomasson.

This cause came on to be presented on the 11th day of July 2011, and it appearing to the Court from the testimony of the Delinquent Tax Attorney, David S. Humberd, that the Defendants listed on a Summons not having been served with personal service, or service by certified mail, as provided by the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure, cannot be served because they are non-residents of the State of Tennessee, or they are unknown, or cannot be ascertained upon diligent search and inquiry, or cannot be served with personal service for some other cause listed in the statutes of the State of Tennesee;
