From a March, 1970, Polk County News: The Girl Scouts of Benton celebrated Girl Scout Week with a mother-daughter dinner. Mrs. John Payne was Brownie leader, assisted by Mrs. Ronnie Bivens and Mrs. James Presswood. Mrs. McKenzie Gross was Junior leader, assisted by Mrs. Healan. Girls from troop #360 were Madge Gregory, Sheila Morgan, Donna Stephens, Ann Wilson, Janice Waldrop, Cynthia Woody, Kathy Yates, Helen Hamby, Joan Brown, Betty Bradford, Karen Bingham, Kaye Healan, Frances Higgins, Kathy Payne, Connie Stone, Carmella Wilson, Tammy Bates, Janice Brown, Debbie Cummings, Margaret Gross, Kathy Rogers, Teresa Wilson, Shelia Watson, Betsy Parker and Susan Swafford.  Troop #352 girls were Patti Payne, Pam German, Diana Healan, Carol Burris, Jody Lanning, Nancy Lightfoot, Lisa White, Cathy Lillard, Sherril Jones, Jennifer Woody, Judy Rogers, Janet Guy, Debbie Wallace, Debbie Witt, Roberta Presswood, Tanya Bivens, Tammy Couch, Triva White, Angela Bates, Cecelia Godfrey and Linda McDaniel.
