Detective Dennis Waters with the Polk County Sheriff’s Department has recovered a large amount of stolen property taken from 12 separate burglaries and thefts from multiple locations ranging from Old Fort to Delano. According to Waters, 10 different suspects have been arrested and charged with 24 charges, including 11 counts of felony burglary, 11 counts of felony theft and 2 counts of aggravated assault. Waters said he had recovered about 97% of the property and has returned it to their rightful owners and that charges have been presented to the Polk County Grand Jury for indictment. According to Waters, “Long hours, quick reaction time and information from the public, which is very appreciated, helped solves these crimes.” Waters said he makes burglaries and thefts a priority and asks that anyone with any information of any crime contact him at the Sheriff’s Department and that all information will be kept confidential.
