The family and friends of the late Henry Joseph Epperson and Matilda Hayes Epperson will gather on Saturday, October 25, 2008 to commemorate the 99th wedding anniversary of the couple.  Henry Epperson the son of Key and Rhoda Jane Dunn Epperson and Matilda Hayes the daughter of Jasper and Sarah Jane Gordon Hayes eloped on November 7, 1909.  They lived in Tennga, in Murray County, Georgia. They had five children:  Vernon Epperson, Irene Epperson Howard, Tommie Epperson Hilliard, Eddie Epperson and Faye Epperson Moore.  Matilda Epperson died in 1970 followed by Henry Epperson in 1979.

Information and pictures are being gathered to compile a history book of the family including the families of:  Epperson, Hayes, Dunn, Gordon and Graves and other related families.  Anyone having pictures or information should contact Debbie Moore at 423-472-5256 or by email at bradleyfolks@aol.com  The book will be available the day of the reunion.

The group will gather at Tennga Baptist Church which is on land that was originally owned by the Dunn and Epperson families.  Participants are asked to gather around 12:30 with a cover dished luncheon to be served at 1:00.  After lunch a slide show of old family photos will be shown.  Relates and friends of this large family are invited to attend.
