Forty-eight years ago a little church in Benton, Tennessee began celebrating the Feast of Pentecost. Bishop John McCann “The Preacherman” and First Lady Hazel McCann welcome men and women from as faraway as Texas, Ohio and Canada who have made their way faithfully to this annual meeting.

Mercy Tabernacle sits in a beautiful rural setting at the foot of Chilhowee Mountain. As motorists drive north or south on Hwy. 411 in Polk County, Tennessee they only have to glance toward the west to spot Mercy Tabernacle. The arresting sight is a spectacular sign that simply says: JESUS! So everyone who passes knows without a doubt that they have passed the way of a church who proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Each year the campground of the church property is filled to the max with people who come seeking a move of God. Workers in the Lord’s vineyard who have preached the Word all year to their flocks providing the fruit of the Spirit now come to this place of worship to be filled themselves. They know that just a few days here among God’s people will invigorate them to go back out and labor for the Lord another year.

Singers who are scheduled throughout the year in venues from small churches to mass crusades set aside their concerts and engagements during this Feast time to come and receive from their brothers and sisters in the Lord.

There is a special camaraderie in the Jesus movement. Not everyone believes as they do, therefore it forges relationships that span decades of time. Lifelong friendships and ministry partners have been formed during these special days of a mighty outpouring of God’s power. This power brings people together in one mind and one accord-that is when Holy Ghost fire falls. That is when miracles happen. That is when divided homes are brought back together. That is when lost children return to the fold.

Mercy Tabernacle is ready and waiting for Christian pilgrims from all over the East Coast to make their way to Benton beginning at the sounding of the trumpet on Thursday, October 2 at 1:30 through Sunday, the fifth. Even though people will be coming from many places-Bishop John and Sis. Hazel McCann extend a heartfelt invitation the people of the surrounding counties to come to these services. Free food will be provided to attendees following each service (11 AM and 7:30 PM). A special military service will take place on Friday night. All US veterans are invited to come and be recognized during this service honoring the armed forces of the United States. Don’t miss Saturday’s youth parade—it begins at the Tabernacle at 11 AM and proceeds through downtown Benton culminating back at Mercy Tab where a special youth service will take place. We are expecting youth from across the nation to participate in this annual event.

Come one come all—come expecting a might move of God. Come and experience a blessing you will never forget. Come gather round the Master’s table—feast of the Bread of Life until you are full. Come to the feast—Come to the 2008 Feast of the Pentecost at Mercy Tabernacle, Benton, Tennessee. For more information call 423/338-8330 or 423/338-8453.
