age 69, of Etowah
Hazel Sue Stamey, age 69, a resident of Etowah, passed away Tuesday evening, September 30, 2008 at the family residence. She was the daughter of the late Dillie Cronan Hyatt and Taft Hyatt. Her husband Kenneth Stamey, her daughters, Wanda Stewart and Linda Sue Fuller and her brothers, Reed and Clyde Hyatt also preceded her in death. She enjoyed camping on the river and spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs. She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Gamble and her husband Randall of Etowah, Patricia Stinnett and her husband Brian Stokes of Cleveland, her sons, Kenny Stamey, Brad Stamey and William “Peanut” Fuller all of Cleveland, her step-daughter, Valery Stamey of Cleveland, her step-son, Scotty Stamey of Pasadena, TX, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother, Robert Hyatt of Ellijay, GA and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The Remembrance of Life Service was conducted October 3, at 1:00 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Home with Reverend Abby Gamble officiating. Interment followed in the Four Mile/Old Ocoee Cemetery in Polk County with Randall Gamble, Brandon “Bam Bam” Stamey, Brain Stokes, Dustin Wade, Marty Beck, David Hunt and Jay Jackson serving as pallbearers. Jim Rush Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
