Mrs. Jozie Ellis Stamey, age 86, of Epworth, GA, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008, at Heritage Health Care of Blue Ridge, GA.  Mrs. Stamey was born Sunday, March 19, 1922 in Gilmer County, GA to the late Lester Ellis and the late Roxie Mathis Ellis.  Jozie loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors and gardening.

Survivors include: son, Fairley L. Stamey of Epworth, GA, daughter, Shirley Patterson of Blue Ridge, GA, sister, Bonnie Stover of Ellijay, GA, three grandchildren, Cindy Mauldin, Pam Bruce, and Paul Patterson and seven great grandchildren, Kelsey, Kayla, Zachary, Rachael Mauldin, Rachel and Collier Bruce, and Aidyn Patterson.

 Funeral services were held Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 2:30 PM at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Reverend Wallace Pruiett officiating.   Interment followed in Pan Will Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were:  Ron Mauldin, Zach Mauldin, Paul Patterson, Howie Bruce, David Stover, and Mark Richards. The Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
