The county commission will have a special called meeting Thursday, Sept. 25, to consider Library Board appointments.
The county commission will have a special called meeting Thursday, Sept. 25, to consider Library Board appointments. Commissioners will also have a workshop to discuss the request by the Copper Basin Hospital District Board that the county co-sign a $1.4 million loan so a management company can be brought in to operate the hospital.
Regarding the Library Board membership, Chairman Greg Brooks had received a letter from attorney Jimmy Logan stating that the roster for the Board is incorrect because appointments have not been made for the correct terms. He suggested that the Library Board and County Commission come to an agreement on the appointments and terms to bring the Library Board into compliance with existing state law.
The hospital loan had been on the agenda for last week’s meeting, but commissioners felt they needed more input from Brim, the company interested in managing the hospital.
The special meeting and workshop will be 7 p.m. at the community center in Ducktown.
