Ruby Leigh Brock, 86, a lifelong resident of Benton, passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.  She was a loving care giver for the late Mr. and Mrs. Luke Parker and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Brock and Minnie Mashburn Brock.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Blanche and James Parker, Jr. of Benton; nieces and nephews: Susan Cantrell, Sherri and John Godfrey Betsy and Patrick O’Rourke, Jimmy and Kelly Parker and Josh and Jacklyn Parker; 12 great nieces and nephews; 19 great great nieces and nephews and   special care giver, Christy Thompson.

Funeral services were conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Huel Hooker officiating. Interment will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday in Zion Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Matthew Byrum, Jeff Danley, Josh Waldroup, Michael Thompson, Jamie Wallace, Josh Parker and Jamey Hawkins will be serving as pallbearers. Higgins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
