Beginning September 2, 2008 through May 13, 2009 Young Branch Horse Camp will be on a first come first serve basis; reservations will not be taken.
Forest Service, USDA officials at the Cherokee National Forest recently announced changes in the reservation system for Young Branch Horse Camp in the Tellico Ranger District. These changes are being made to better serve national forest visitors.
Beginning September 2, 2008 through May 13, 2009 Young Branch Horse Camp will be on a first come first serve basis; reservations will not be taken. The gates to the camp will be open at all times. However, you must have livestock to camp there. This site is designated for horses/livestock only.
Beginning May 14, 2009 through October 31, 2009 the site will go back on the reservation system and you must make your reservations at least 3 days in advance. However, if you do not have a reservation and would like to take a chance on getting a site, you may still camp there if a campsite is available.
Volunteers serving as campground hosts for both Young Branch Horse Camp and Jake Best Campground will be assisting with the new reservation system.
