This August, Lee University will be once again inviting Clevelanders 60-years-old and older to participate in Encore, a program which offers a selection of hundreds of university courses as well as eight courses specially designed for Encore.
The Encore Program gives seniors special access to most fall semester courses at Lee. “This is one of the most significant initiatives in many years at Lee,” said Dr. Paul Conn, president. “It provides a way for older Clevelanders to participate in our academic life and share in the marvelous things that are being taught by such an outstanding faculty. Our younger students will also benefit from the perspective and experience of older learners in the classroom.”
Special courses offered this semester include The Play’s the Thing, an introduction to drama and drama production; Talking Politics, an analysis of the electoral process in America; Let There Be Praise: A Study of Psalms; and Computers for Beginners, among others.
The program has no educational requirements and students will not pay any tuition, just a $50 flat fee. Encore students are also offered an expedited registration process.
Upon admission to the Encore Program, individuals will be issued a Lee student ID card which will entitles them to campus parking privileges, a library card, a student email account, and free admission to all concerts, drama, and athletic events normally available to Lee students.
