Boy & Girls club progressing
Donations needed to offset costs
The Summer Program at the Boys & Girls Club of Benton was packed with swimming, games, field trips and a visit from Eagle Ranch. With school back in session the kids will go in after school and begin homework, have a snack and play games.
“We have several computers, where the kids can play age appropriate games. We are going to be implementing a Life Skills program that will be beneficial for high school kids. The program will get the kids to set goals for after school to help them prepare for careers.
"I want all of the kids to know they have options,” said Director Cindy Hooker. She said the club falls under Cleveland’s umbrella, which means they can use their knowledge. Being a new center that is important, explained Hooker.
The Boys & Girls Club needs donations to offset the cost of operation. “We are working on getting funds from wherever we can right now, but we urgently need the support of citizens as well,” said Hooker.
