On Sunday, May 4th, 63 members of the David Smith family met at the Benton Municipal community room for a covered dish lunch. Mrs. Lorene (Smith) Key and Mrs. Bobbie (Smith) Newman are the two living daughters of Horace David Smith, son of David Smith. Aundis Harris and Mrs. Shelby (Smith) Massengale are his nephew and niece. Several new families were in attendance this year. Those attending were: Aundis & Ruth Harris, Spence & Jackie Harris, Charity Harris McClain, Lance, Suzanne, Tempe, Lauren & Kole Fugate, Willard, Mary & Jamie Jones, Floyd & Bobbie Newman, Jean & Lynn Swafford, Bart, Carrie, Alyssa & Ashley Jenkins, David & Karen Key, Robert & Lorene Key, Gail Dairs, Dustin Dairs, Kelly, David, Kirby & Haley Key, L.W. & Pat Smith, Rick, Carol & Jeremy Darr, Katie Jenkins, Harold & Jane Kilpatrick, Keith & JoAnn Ballew, Michael, Sharon, Ashley, Amy & Zachary Smith, Brenda Smith, Jenna & Steph Smith, David & Jenny Smith, Bea Tallent, Jim & Kathy Tallent, Tina & Kayla Hughes, Johnny Raines, Lesley Raines Vineyard, Mackenzie Waters, Emma Vineyard & Mike Poteet. Plans were made for the seventh annual family reunion on the first Sunday in May 2009.
