The children at New Zion Baptist Church in Farner recently completed a year-long project. Each Sunday morning young children in the church gather change from the congregation and place it in a large jug. Once the jug is filled the money is applied to a worthy cause. The children collected enough money to purchase the Ten Commandments in a stone cast to be placed on the flag platform. The commandments were unveiled on May 25, 2008 during activities to recognize the 100th Anniversary of the church. The remaining money was donated to St. Jude's Research Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. God has truly blessed the church with children and we're very proud of each and every one of them.
