Augusta Virginia Edwards Hickey, age 83, of Chattanooga passed away Monday, June 16, 2008. She was born in Doogan, GA on April 9, 1925 to the late, John Adrian & Mary Kate Edwards, but had lived in the Rossville area for most of her life and was of the Baptis faith. She was a loving wife, mother and talented artist, who loved reading poetry, gardening and painting. She often said her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ethel Edwards and Frances Campbell; brother, Bob Edwards and the father of her children, R.B. Hickey.

Survivors include: 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Carolyn & Michael Roberson of Chattanooga, and Marilyn Hickey & Andy Rehring of Portland, OR: son & daughter-in-law, Richard & Dawn Hickey of Franklin; sisters, Hazel Miolen of Dalton, GA, Reba Hutcheson of Benton, Lura Ward of Marietta, Ga and Wilma Jones of Lawrenceville, GA; brother, Bill Edwards of Benton; 4 grandchildren, Virginia Roberson, Melissa Ray, Tristan Hickey and Ashton Hickey; great grandchild, Maxwell Ray and several nieces and nephews.

There was a gathering to celebrate her life and share memories on June 20, from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. The burial ceremony was private.
