The Leadership Polk Class of 2008 held their graduation dinner on May 6 at the Benton Municipal Building. Dr. Carl Hite, Cleveland State Community College President, was the guest speaker. Members completed 40 hours of class instruction in the areas of State and Local Government, Agriculture, Health Care, Manufacturing, Education, Tourism and Economic Development. Pictured are graduates: Mike Stinnett, Nancy Frye, Chris White, Dana Teasley, Kay Jones, Bryan McMillian and George Robinson. Kim Harpe, Southeast Tennessee Development District, facilitated the 10-month class. It is a component of the Three-Star Community Development program, which is sponsored by the Polk County Chamber of Commerce. Applications for the Class of 2009 are being accepted until June 16.
