Friends of the Library and the County Commission will square off in court next week, this time before Judge Mike Sharp in Circuit Court.

For the first time in twenty years, Copper Basin had their very own band perform at a football game during halftime.

This past school year the Coordinated School Health Program completed a successful year in the Polk County Schools, and the wonderful news is the application for next year's budget has been approved.

Cleveland State awards Academic Service Scholarships annually to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement during their high school years.

Both teams were winless going into the game…with Basin coming off a near-upset of Silverdale the week before.

The defense allowed just 25 net yards and one first down in the opening half and ran its scoreless quarter streak to 15.

However, a seemingly unstoppable Edgar Montgomery and a bizarre set of circumstances proved just enough to land Silverdale on the winning side of the scoreboard at night's end.

Polk County’s defense stretched its scoreless streak to 13 quarters as the Wildcats dominated region foe Grundy County 34-0.

The Polk County Bobcat Crickets lost a close one to Loudon 28 to 20 on Saturday.

Homecoming will be held on Oct. 31, not Oct. 24 as originally set.

Despite some mistakes, the Wildcats treated the Homecoming crowd to a dominating performance.
